FAQs

ADS provides assistance to enable every individual to be successful regardless of the degree of disability. By focusing on enhancing choice, encouraging engagement, and enabling decision making, each client gains confidence and independence, while taking control of their own lives.

We know families just want to be able to get on with their business. At Africare Disability Services, we provide support to carers and families. We provide assistance with daily living activities, personal care, assistance to access social and community supports. We have dedicated employees and volunteers who are ready to provide irreplaceable roles to individuals living with a disability and their families.

ADS supports and promotes a person centred-care practice in the way we provide our supports and services. When providing person-centred supports, the client is at the centre of those supports, not the service/support provider. This mean the focus is on what matters most to the client and his/her family and/or carer, and how we can support our workers with this.

We are patient in our support, allowing people to grow at their own pace. We strive to find a balance between their priorities and the assistance they require. We are cautious not to create potentially unsafe situations or tasks that do not align with their preferences or skill level. All our staff are expected to respect, support, and implement a Client-Centred Care Plan approach for each client.
